Nature Collage

This is the first nature collage I made and the first collage I sold. It was a pure work of joy to create with no intentions toward marketability. What a pleasant surprise for it to find a good home with a nice couple that appreciates nature-scapes as I do.

The beauty of this work is in the textures and details:

The blue fabric has a beautiful textured pattern that does not show up in the images.
The blue discs are wooden beads from a necklace I cut apart for the collage.
The leaves in the center panel are from a dogwood tree.

Burlap was sandwiched between two canvas panels and the corners were sewn with heavy waxed linen thread to assist the glue in holding the panels together.

More on collage and the processes
of this art form is explained in About the Art.
